The CAVE cv1000 arcade board is the 3rd generation of arcade boards developed by CAVE. The software was in use from the release of Mushihimesama (2004) to DoDonPachi SaiDaiouJou (2012). The board is also widely known as "Cave SH-3" as the board is powered by a Hitachi SH-3 CPU.
When unveiled with the release of Mushihime-sama, the board boasted high quality audio files, 2000+ bullets on screen, and a wide array of colors, explosions, and score particle effects on the screen. The cv1000 was a powerhouse of an arcade board for its time, and many genre-defining titles have been released for this board including Ibara, DoDonPachi series, Deathsmiles series, Akai Katana, and ESPGaLuDa II.
